Weekly memes

WWW – 22 March

Hello! Today I thought I would update you on what I am reading so this meme is perfect. This meme is a weekly thing hosted by samannelizabeth.wordpress.com so you should totally check out the blog. The meme is easy, you just answer the three questions below.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

Goodreads synopsis: Two misfits.
One extraordinary love.

Eleanor… Red hair, wrong clothes. Standing behind him until he turns his head. Lying beside him until he wakes up. Making everyone else seem drabber and flatter and never good enough…Eleanor.

Park… He knows she’ll love a song before he plays it for her. He laughs at her jokes before she ever gets to the punch line. There’s a place on his chest, just below his throat, that makes her want to keep promises…Park.

Set over the course of one school year, this is the story of two star-crossed sixteen-year-olds—smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try.

I am not sure about what I think of this book yet. I kind of like it but I am a bit annoyed with the characters. So I have not decided what I think yet…

What did you recently finish reading?

The Ruby Circle by Richelle Mead

Goodreads synopsisTHEY WILL BE TESTED

Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets – and human lives.

Their forbidden romance exposed, Sydney and Adrian find themselves facing the wrath of both the Alchemists and the Moroi in this electrifying conclusion to Richelle Mead’s bestselling Bloodlines series.

When the life of someone they both love is put on the line, Sydney risks everything to hunt down a deadly former nemesis. Meanwhile, she and Adrian becomes enmeshed in a puzzle that could hold the key to a shocking secret about spirit magic, a secret that could shake the entire Moroi world and alter their lives forever.

Don’t miss their unforgettable final chapter…

I’ve actually made a review of this book which you can read here. I ended up giving this 4 stars and was overall pretty happy with the ending to this series.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Hold still by Nina LaCour

Goodreads synopsis: An arresting story about starting over after a friend’s suicide, from a breakthrough new voice in YA fictiondear caitlin, there are so many things that i want so badly to tell you but i just can’t.

Devastating, hopeful, hopeless, playful . . . in words and illustrations, Ingrid left behind a painful farewell in her journal for Caitlin. Now Caitlin is left alone, by loss and by choice, struggling to find renewed hope in the wake of her best friend’s suicide. With the help of family and newfound friends, Caitlin will encounter first love, broaden her horizons, and start to realize that true friendship didn’t die with Ingrid. And the journal which once seemed only to chronicle Ingrid’s descent into depression, becomes the tool by which Caitlin once again reaches out to all those who loved Ingrid—and Caitlin herself.

I am actually very interested in starting this book. I have never read anything by Nina LaCour before so it will be fun to discover her writing style.

What are your WWW’s this week? And have you read any books listed above and in that case, what did you think about it?
